Maker Faire Berlin will take place on three days in 2016. There will be a different program on newly added Friday (September 30) in contrast to the usual public days, Saturday and Sunday. On this day, Maker Faire is only open to school classes, teachers, the press and the makers.
Friday morning we open exclusively for teachers with their school classes, so that these up-and-coming makers are able to check out the maker scene during school hours.
Traveling to international Maker Faires in the Bay Area and in Rome we witnessed school fridays and liked the idea right away: Studens are able to visit Maker Faire free of charge and can experience the maker community directly.
Also, talking to teachers, we have learned of a strong interest in topics like technology, robotics, crafting etc. – in teaching as well as in vocational preparation.
What will happen on school day?
We’re inviting all students and their teachers to visit Maker Faire Berlin for free on Friday from 9 am until 1 pm. The maker floor including all projects will be open during the morning to learn and participate.
Maker Faire opens its doors for all registered classes at 9. (The complete activity program will be published online in the weeks leading up to Maker Faire.)
While the students check out Maker Faire, all teachers are invited to our teachers’ lounge: Come by and find out how to use ideas and incentives from the maker community in your curriculum. Use the chance to network over a cup of coffee and check out our conference program.
Please use this form to sign up your school class. Members of the press please sign up here.
